The Chapman format is one of the most fun formats to play in team golf. The Chapman is very similar to the alternate shot format. It is played in teams of two players.

PGA Professional Todd Kolb explains this format in this video. Each player starts by hitting their tee shots. Upon arriving to the fairway, the players switch balls, with each player playing one another’s ball. After the shots are hit into the greens, the closest ball in proximity to the hole is selected.

From there, it is a pure alternate format until the ball is holed out.
