Bushnell Tour Hybrid Review: Two Rangefinders in One
This Hybrid Rangefinder is a Revelation… and It’s About to Streamline Your Golf Strategy.
We just checked out the new Bushnell Tour Hybrid rangefinder, and here’s what our Director of Instruction, Todd, had to say about it:
“It’s not very often in the golf industry that I have an aha moment, especially when it comes to rangefinders. I always think to myself, ‘What are they going to come up with next to really make it different from the previous year?’ Well this year, with Bushnell’s Tour Hybrid, I actually had that aha moment.”
We all did, to be honest.
The Tour Hybrid features a stroke of genius that makes it a great option for any serious golfer… in our opinion, anyway.
But let’s take a closer look at the details you need to know to determine whether this device belongs in your bag.
Is the Bushnell Tour Hybrid Rangefinder Accurate?
When we’re talking rangefinders, none of the bells and whistles matter if the device isn’t accurate.
Fortunately, the Tour Hybrid is completely reliable. Bushnell is known for accuracy, to the extent that 98.6% of PGA Tour professionals trust it. No worries there.
As for what sets this unit apart from Bushnell’s previous models…
The Gamechanger: Onboard GPS
This is that “aha” feature Todd was talking about.
Bushnell has combined its standard Slope compensated laser distances with Slope compensated GPS distances. (That’s the “Hybrid” part.) In addition to getting the distance to the pin, you also get GPS-powered front, center, and back distances.
“This is important,” Todd says, “because if you’re trying to carry a bunker or there’s water over the green and you don’t want the ball going too far, this is the type of information you need.”

If you’ve never used GPS technology to refine your strategy on the course, you’re in for a real treat. And if you have, you can understand the benefit of having that tech already built into a laser rangefinder. Instead of juggling two devices, you’ve got all that crucial information in one place.
Other Key Features of the New Bushnell Tour Hybrid Rangefinder
The onboard GPS is the headline, but it’s not the only feature you should know about. The Tour Hybrid also comes with:
Pinseeker JOLT Technology
This is another thing Bushnell is famous for—the JOLT vibrations that let you know when you’ve locked onto the pin. It’s a handy feature that gives you a little extra confidence in the numbers.

And for added clarity, the Tour Hybrid also has a visual JOLT—a red flashing ring to accompany the vibrations.
Slope Technology
With slope compensation, you get a “play as” distance that takes slope and ball trajectory into account. This is particularly useful when you’re on a new course.
Bushnell has also made it easy to turn this feature off to conform with USGA rules in competition.
BITE Magnetic Cart Mount
The Tour Hybrid rangefinder comes with an integrated BITE magnetic cart mount, which means you can quickly attach it to your cart bar and pull it off when you need it. No need to bulk up your pockets or dig it out of your golf bag.

Weather Resistant Design
We love golf equipment you don’t have to be too precious about, and the Tour Hybrid fits the bill with an IPX6 water resistance rating.
500+ Yard Range
The Tour Hybrid rangefinder isn’t just accurate; it’s accurate within one yard out to 500 yards. That means you can be fully confident in the numbers for pretty much any scenario you’ll run into on the course.
The rangefinder’s total range is 1,300 yards.
Is the Bushnell Tour Hybrid Rangefinder Worth It for Amateur Golfers?
Todd would say so. His two cents: “For an average golfer who’s looking for everything in one unit, the Bushnell Tour Hybrid is something you should definitely consider.”
We’ve tested this device for ourselves and found it to be reliable, easy to use, and way easier than cross referencing a laser rangefinder with a GPS device.

If you’re an everyday golfer wanting to get a little more information to help you strategize your game at a higher level, the Tour Hybrid is absolutely worth the investment.
If you want something a little simpler at a lower price point, we recommend checking out the Bushnell A1-Slope. But you really can’t go wrong with the Tour Hybrid. If you’re ready to try it for yourself, you can find it here.
