Rangefinders are becoming increasingly popular on the golf course, and Bushnell’s Neo-XS Rangefinder Watch is just another example of why the company is the leader in the industry.

Hello golfers, PGA Professional Todd Kolb here with another Pro Review; and today I’m taking a look at the new Neo-XS Rangefinder Watch from Bushnell.

There’s no question that over the last ten-plus years, if you’ve been using a rangefinder, odds are it’s probably come from Bushnell. They have been the leaders in this side of the golf business since I can really remember.

And with this new watch that we’re taking a look at here today—the Neo-XS—they’ve got a lot of really nice features over the previous models. First of all, battery life; something that we’re always looking for when we’re headed to the golf course is the ability for the product to last a long time. The battery life is definitely improved.

The Neo-XS USB connection makes charging hassle-free

When I got it out of the box, it’s easy to use; even myself, I could figure it out. I literally took it out of the box, charged it for a little bit, turned it on and it found what my golf course was, it found the time of day, all through GPS satellite and I was ready to go. I walked out on the first tee; it’s got some really new features that I like.

It tells me, of course, how far it is to the hole—center of the green, back of the green, those types of things—but it also tells me how far I am to certain hazards, or how far I might have to hit the ball to carry certain distances; because when you’re looking at a rangefinder, what you’re really looking for is accuracy and you’re looking for ease of use.

And you’re looking for things that you want to know—how far is it to the green or bunker, those types of things that we talked about.

I also noticed that it tells me how long I’ve been on the golf course. So basically, pace of play; how long it has taken our group to get around the golf course. Kind of a nice thing to know, so you know if you’re keeping up with the group in front of you and you’re moving along at a good pace.

It also told me how far I was walking in terms of distance; and that’s something that I find kind of interesting, because you’re out walking and you’re trying to get some exercise. It’s kind of nice to know how far you’ve walked.

So at the end of the day, it’s pretty simple—if you’re looking for accuracy, if you’re looking for quality and you’re looking for reliability, Bushnell has dominated the market. This new watch that they’ve got—the rangefinder watch—has some really nice features, and I’m going to highly recommend if you’re looking for a rangefinder product, be sure to check out Bushnell.
